licensed through the Minnesota Department of Human
Services.

are encouraged to check each provider's references and

Unlicensed Child Care
In Minnesota, a person may provide "legally unlicensed
care" only if they care for relatives and one unrelated
family.  This includes the caregivers own children.  
A person cannot do unlicensed care if they were ever
denied a license, had their license revoked or their
license is currently suspended.   

There are no safety regulations for unlicensed child
care providers!
